Responsible Practices

Code of Conduct

We are a family company – founded in 1996. From the beginning, honesty, integrity, transparency and fair treatment of anyone whom we encounter are our core principles. We work with vendors both across the globe and locally. We expect all our suppliers to adhere to these values in all their business practices. This is articulated in our code of conduct.

Exclusion Policy

We recognize the mining of gold, diamonds and gemstones contributes to economic growth and development in many countries; However, mining and trading of these materials can also take place in regions affected by conflict, corruption, or poor governance which may compromise legitimate and responsible sourcing. That's not a legal position. It's a moral one, and it matters to everyone who works here.

Responsible Jewelry Council Member

Becoming a certified member of the Responsible Jewellery Council in 2026 is something we're extremely proud of. It is something we worked hard for. The audit process was both lengthy and thorough. We are the only US Body Jewelry manufacturer to achieve this goal. It places us within a small club of accountable manufacturing luxury brands such as Cartier and Tiffany. Without doubt it adds legitimacy to the Body Jewelry industry as a whole.

Sustainability

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals provide a powerful framework for the kind of company BVLA wants to be — and several of them speak directly to the work we're already doing. From responsible consumption and production (SDG 12) to decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), climate action (SDG 13), and reduced inequalities (SDG 10). The SDGs give language and structure to commitments we hold genuinely, not just on paper. We're a small company in a global industry, but we believe that scale is no excuse for inaction — and that the choices we make about materials, suppliers, and people add up to something that matters.
