If you have been to Adorn in the past couple decades chances are you might have seen me. I got my start with Adorn September 2nd 2001, the day after the shop’s One Year Anniversary party. That’s the night I met Desta, the founder of Adorn. I asked for an apprenticeship… her response: “Show up. Keep showing up. Be undeniable!” …so that’s what I did. Many years later, I was given the opportunity to own part of the company. Today I am the Chief Financial Officer, and Co-Owner of our three beautiful locations. Adorn is a special studio, and my home. When you come to Adorn, my goal is that you are treated like part of the fam! A little more about me: I am a little obsessive with hobbies. My current obsessions are watches, BBQ, and fast cars. If you want to know more… you have to find me at one of our shops!  – See you soon Alexander | He/They General Manager & Piercer Alexander manages studio operations and is a multi-talented artist who believes in self-expression through body art and jewelry. Joining the Adorn family in the summer of 2018, Alex worked as a front of house counter person before becoming a licensed piercer in 2021. Taking pride in helping others feel more comfortable in their own skin, Alex enjoys creating customized styles that range from small singular piercings to larger full curation projects. With a keen eye for aesthetics and a trauma informed approach to piercings, Alex loves nothing more than seeing someone’s transformation through their self-expression. Dana | He/Him Head Piercer Hi, I’m Dana. With over three decades of experience including almost two decades of providing education within the Piercing Industry, I’ll happily take on any project– no matter how challenging or unique the anatomy. I’m particularly well versed in post-surgical or transitioning anatomy. At the beginning of my years in the industry I spent lots of time and energy making jewelry and designing projects based on anatomy aesthetics and the wonderful differences from body to body. If clients leave happy with new shiny parts, I’m happy! Ares | They/Them Piercer Welcome Ares, who joined the Adorn team in 2024! Ares began their adventure in the lush Virginia mountains in 1989. Their fascination with body modification sparked in the Age of Tumblr, leading them to an apprenticeship in 2010. Throughout their piercing journey, Ares came to  treasure the connection of providing a safe and welcoming environment, the beauty of trust and vulnerability, and the friendships made along the way. A proud APP member, Ares strives to keep learning and providing a welcoming experience to all. Ares can be found outside work stargazing, collecting trinkets, or listening to true crime podcasts. Casey | She/Her Piercer Casey is an exceptional team member with a master’s in medieval German literature, law, and medicine from Princeton University. Speaking in four languages and skilled in deciphering three dead languages, Casey effortlessly connects with clients from diverse backgrounds. When she’s not enchanting us with her linguistic talents, she’s a devoted cat lover, caring for her high-maintenance rescue felines, Betty and Charles. Casey’s culinary prowess is legendary, treating us to delightful dishes and delectable desserts, with a special love for baking French pastries like macarons. Casey’s multifaceted talents and warm personality make her an invaluable addition to our team. Whether mapping precise piercings, tending to her rescue cats, or wowing us with her culinary skills, Casey is truly exceptional. Cherish | They/Them Piercer Since 2011, Cherish has pursued their passion for piercing with dedication and creativity. In 2020, they joined the Adorn family, where they continue to prioritize education to enhance their craft.Cherish’s unique perspective as a piercer is informed by their eye for art and exceptional design sense. Whether you’re seeking your first piercing or adding a new piece to your jewelry collection, Cherish is committed to delivering an outstanding experience.Cherish especially enjoys being part of first-time piercings, unique and individualized ear curations, and any large gauge piercing! Colter | He/Him Piercer Howdy! My name is Colter and I have been in this industry for 8 years, piercing for the last 3 of those. I love being a piercer because it allows me to help facilitate people’s own self expression through body modification. Helping my clients feel more in control and at home in their bodies is an honor that I cherish greatly. I look forward to making connections and laughing our way through a fun experience! Dae | He/Him Piercer Hi, I’m Dae! I’m a trans-masculine queerdo and have been a body piercer and ritual guide since 2010. In the piercing room with me you’ll receive active listening and patient teaching as I strive to make piercings as therapeutic and painless as possible. I am trauma informed and enjoy helping clients feel centered and safe through calm communication and guided breath-work. I’m also a musician, a practicing Sound Healer, and Energy Worker. I love to inspire curated piercing projects and specialized custom jewelry creations. I look forward to hosting a safe space for you to feel better in your body. Hannah | She/Her Piercer Hey, I’m Hannah! I started piercing in Southern California in 2019, and I am over the moon to be joining the team at Adorn. My favorite part about piercing is helping people express themselves and present in the way that feels most authentic to them. Nothing beats seeing a client beaming after getting a new piercing! I love how anatomy is so unique person-to-person; it makes my job so interesting and never monotonous. Xia | He/They Piercer Hi, I’m Xia! As a queer non-binary person, I take great pride in being able to help clients fall in love with what they see in the mirror. I love any piercing that a client feels is gender-affirming, or to help reclaim their body after a divorce or break up. With 12 years of experience, I do my best to work from a trauma-formed approach, guiding clients through every step of the piercing process.
