Our Story Lifelong friends Sean Roth and Eric Evans started Oak and Poppy to bring high-quality tattooing and piercing together with a welcoming, professional experience. Success led to a Beverly Grove studio in 2024, with Old Towne Orange set for 2025. Built on trust, community, and lasting relationships with both clients and coworkers, Oak & Poppy continues to grow while staying true to its roots. Sean Roth Sean Roth, co-owner and lead piercer at Oak and Poppy, brings over 20 years of expertise in body piercing. With undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology and philosophy, Sean is also a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. His background provides unique insight, helping clients feel at ease and supported throughout the piercing experience. Balancing his passion for entrepreneurship with a commitment to client care, Sean creates an inviting environment where each piercing reflects personal style and self-expression. Kari Spector Kari is an APP member, jewelry stylist, and Beyoncé enthusiast based in Orange, CA. She has been piercing professionally since 2007 and specializes in gold and titanium ear curations. However, navel piercings are some of her favorite to perform! Her goal is to provide a warm and welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors. Donnie Byrd Donnie Byrd is a professional piercer and independent cat rescuer based in Reseda, California. She has been perfecting her craft since 2003 and is a proud member of the Association of Professional Piercers (APP). Known for her precision and attention to detail, Donnie has worked at some of the most reputable piercing studios across Los Angeles. She currently works at Oak and Poppy, where her dedication to safety, artistry, and client care has earned her a stellar reputation. In addition to her piercing career, Donnie is the founder of Misfits Friend Club, a donation-based initiative focused on TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) efforts and caring for stray and feral cats in the San Fernando Valley. Whether she’s fostering injured cats, helping control feline populations, or rescuing the overlooked, Donnie pours her heart into giving every cat a chance at a better life. Donnie is married and shares her home with eight cats and a dog, embodying her deep love for animals in every aspect of her life. Joshua Harris Piercing Technician Joshua Harris is a body piercer based in Los Angeles, recognized for his meticulous attention to detail and dedication to his craft. With a decade of experience, Joshua has built a reputation for creating elegant and precise piercings that combine aesthetics with safety. His clientele includes a mix of celebrities, influencers, and locals who appreciate his commitment to providing a personalized experience. In his work, Joshua combines technique with an innate understanding of human anatomy, ensuring every piercing is both beautiful and functional. Mike Kso Piercing Technician For the past decade, Mike Kso has been navigating the wonderful world of body piercing, helping people adorn themselves with beautiful and meaningful jewelry. He’s always looking for new ways to improve his craft, whether it’s traveling to exciting conventions, designing unique jewelry, or spreading the good word of body art to the masses. Ivy Jimenez Piercing Technician Ivy Jimenez has been a part of the Oak and Poppy team since August 2019. Before joining, she spent five years working in child development, an experience that has been invaluable in helping children feel comfortable during the piercing process. Drawn to creative expression, Ivy has discovered her true passion in working with gemstones, chains, and dangles, often experimenting with unconventional jewelry placements. She thrives on creating balance by thoughtfully selecting shapes and positions for each piece. Her favorite piercings to perform are stacked earlobe piercings because of their unique and individualized nature. Ivy’s goal is to create a welcoming and exciting environment for both adults and children, ensuring that every client has a one-of-a-kind experience. Christine Swaim Piercing Technician Born and raised in Woodland Hills, Christine is a true valley girl at heart, this previous client turned body piercer has been with Oak & Poppy since 2019. A fast learner with attention to detail, she is a perfectionist in every aspect of her craft. She strives to make all of her clients feel comfortable and taken care of with her calm and cool demeanor. Christine has a big love for jewelry and mixing metals. Whether it’s custom ordering new pieces or curating and styling a clients ears, her passion is designing something you’ll love and making sure you always leave happy.  Jacqueline Jalal Piercing Technician Jacqueline Jalal has been passionate about piercing for as long as she can remember. Since beginning her apprenticeship at Oak & Poppy in 2023, she has developed a special love for ear curations and takes pride in working closely with clients to ensure they leave the studio feeling confident and happy. Outside the studio, Jacqueline enjoys relaxing with her cats and indulging in her love for horror films. Whether it’s spooky or wholesome, Jacqueline’s warm personality and expertise will make your visit unforgettable!
