All About Ring Orientation

Here at BVLA, we pride ourselves on being able to make pieces as you request them for many different applications. Sometimes there can be confusion about the orientation needed for a certain placement. We hope to provide some clarity here in an effort to make ordering easier, thereby assuring you get the piece you intended.

We have based these orientations on traditional placements to make things easier to visualize. We understand that there are a variety of ways in which diverse anatomy may allow for jewelry to sit in different orientations. Please do not order designs based solely on the name alone. What may normally be considered a good fit for a “helix piercing” might actually need a “nipple orientation” design. “16GA 3/8” Feather Ring – Nipple orientation” for example.

The four main directions are as follows:

To further complicate things – because all BVLA jewelry is handmade to order, it is possible to put many designs on any axis or plane. This type of customization will usually require a drawing to confirm correct placement.

AS ALWAYS – if you have any questions or are unsure in any way – we are proud to have some very experienced piercers on staff that can help. Please do not hesitate to reach out – it may save the frustration of receiving the wrong piece.
